1. Understanding the Official Status Verification Process

Because student academic registries are authenticated directly against central educational and demographic databases (UDISE+ and UIDAI), the APAAR generation pipeline relies on institutional verification.

Depending on your educational level, status verification happens primarily through two legitimate avenues:

  • For School Students: Inquiring through your school's designated APAAR/UDISE+ nodal officer or administrative desk.
  • For Higher Education Students: Checking your DigiLocker Issued Documents or your University Academic Bank of Credits dashboard.

2. School-Level Status Verification (The Authorized Method)

Schools process APAAR IDs in batches through their administrative logins on the government’s UDISE+ portal. If you or your child submitted the signed parental consent form:

  1. Contact School Administrative Nodal Desk: Reach out to the class teacher or school computer/data in-charge.
  2. Provide Student PEN or Admission Number: The school staff will look up the student's Permanent Education Number (PEN).
  3. Dashboard Status Indicators:
    • Generated / Active: The 12-digit number is visible on the school register and ready for DigiLocker sync.
    • Demographic Verification Pending: Details were submitted but awaiting UIDAI response or matching check.
    • Data Mismatch / Failed: Name spelling, gender, or date of birth differed from the Aadhaar record.
    • Consent Not Uploaded: Parental consent flag has not yet been marked by the school.

3. Checking Availability Inside DigiLocker

Once an APAAR ID has been generated successfully by your institution, the fastest way for a student or parent to confirm its creation is via DigiLocker:

  1. Open the DigiLocker app or visit digilocker.gov.in.
  2. Sign in using your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and 6-digit security PIN.
  3. Go to the Issued Documents tab.
  4. If already generated, the APAAR / Academic Identity Card will appear under your issued certificates.
  5. If not automatically visible, use the Search Documents feature, type "APAAR" or select "Ministry of Education", and enter your student credentials to pull the record.

4. What If Your Status Stays "Pending"?

If your APAAR ID has been in pending status for several weeks:

  • Check Demographic Spelling: Confirm with your school whether the spelling of your name in the school register strictly matches your Aadhaar card.
  • Verify Date of Birth: Even minor discrepancies in birth dates will halt automated authentication.
  • Confirm Parental Consent Form: Ensure the signed consent slip was recorded by the school office.
