2. Who Can Obtain an APAAR ID?

• School Pupils (Primary to Senior Secondary): Enrolled in recognized government, aided, or private schools across CBSE, CISCE, State Boards, or NIOS.

1. Consent Form Distribution: The school distributes an official physical or digital APAAR parental consent form to the child's parents or guardians.
2. Submission of Basic Records: Parents verify the child’s name spelling, date of birth, gender, and Aadhaar matching details.
3. Institutional UDISE+ Portal Entry: Authorized school teachers or administrative staff log into their official UDISE+ (Unified District Information System for Education Plus) portal.
4. Demographic Verification: The school staff inputs the student's Permanent Education Number (PEN) and initiates the UIDAI Aadhaar demographic match.
5. ID Generation: Upon successful demographic verification, the system assigns the permanent 12-digit APAAR number to the student profile.

4. Pathway B: Registration for College & University Students

Higher education students typically generate their academic identity either through their university portal, the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) website, or directly through DigiLocker:

1. Visit the official portal at apaar.education.gov.in or abc.gov.in.
2. Select Student Registration / Login using your DigiLocker credentials.
3. Provide voluntary electronic consent for academic credential linking.
4. Select your university or college name, admission year, and roll number/registration number.
5. Confirm your details to generate your linked APAAR / ABC ID card.
